Talking
Nouns I, Talking Nouns II and Talking Verbs
Talking Nouns, Talking Nouns II, and Talking Verbs give children and adults with autism the opportunity to communicate. They provide an interactive environment for language exploration and communication exchange.
These programs encourage individuals to express themselves. Users simply select a word, phrase, or picture to make the computer speak. You can select either a male or female voice. Corresponding pictures of nouns or verbs appear on the screen. Talking Nouns and Talking Nouns use the same 100 vocabulary items as First Words and First Words II, and Talking Verbs uses 40 of the 50 verbs from First Verbs.
These programs offer a variety of activities that reinforce vocabulary comprehension, teach the formation of grammatically correct sentences, improve visual discrimination, and develop conversational turn-taking. They also offer an economical way to train skills needed to use a dedicated augmentative communication device.
